Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
Plantoid (“Plantoid”, “we”, “us”) is a personal plant-tracking app that lets you keep a binder of your plants, their care schedules, and progress photos. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Google account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and your Google account identifier. We use Google solely to verify your identity.
- Content you create. The plants you add and the details you enter about them (nicknames, notes, care frequencies, dates) and the progress photos you upload.
- Sign-in activity. The time of your first and most recent sign-in and a count of how many times you have signed in.
- Usage analytics. When you view a page we record the page path, the referring page, your browser’s user-agent string, and an approximate location (city, region, and country) that our host derives from your IP address. We store only this coarse location, not your raw IP address. To tell visitors and sessions apart we generate a device identifier (using FingerprintJS) and a session identifier, which are kept in your browser. If you are signed in, these page views are linked to your account so we can understand how Plantoid is used.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To operate the app and store and display your plants and photos back to you.
- To maintain your account and show basic activity on your Account page.
- To understand how Plantoid is used so we can keep it running and improve it.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Where your data is stored
Plantoid relies on a small number of service providers to run:
- Google:for sign-in. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Supabase:database and file storage for your account, plant data, and photos.
- Vercel:application hosting and delivery, and the approximate location derived from your IP address.
Your uploaded photos are stored in a private storage bucket and are only served to you through short-lived signed links.
Cookies and local storage
We use a secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in after you authenticate. For usage analytics we also set a non-essential session cookie and store a device identifier and a session identifier in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Deleting a plant also deletes its photos from storage. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us.
Children
Plantoid is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
